Keolis Welcomes Direct Award For The Transpennine Express Franchise
Keolis has welcomed a Direct Award by the Department for Transport (DfT) following its successful operation of the TransPennine Express (TPE) rail franchise.
Keolis is a leading global passenger transport business, which delivers 650 million passenger journeys in the UK every year. Since 1996 we’ve operated some of the UK’s busiest rail franchises, delivering one in three rail journeys and employing over 14,000 people.
A joint venture partnership of public transport operator Keolis and infrastructure asset management specialist Amey has been shortlisted to tender for the operation and maintenance of Greater Manchester’s Metrolink tram network when the current franchise expires in July 2017.
London Midland has received a directly-awarded agreement involving a £13 million package of improvements that will see the TOC continue to run passenger rail services on the West Midlands franchise until October 2017.
